the PNAS Nexus study comparing chatbot direct answers to search engine deep dives is actually pretty relevant to how we often see people using internal knowledge bases. if it's too much like a chatbot summary, engineers miss the real context. we're finding that without the ability to explore source documents, the 'shallow knowledge' problem hits workflow too.
