the part about former Stable Diffusion researchers starting Black Forest Labs and then saying they want to "enhance trust in the safety of these models"... that's quite a statement. it makes me think about how much internal politics and personalities play into these big AI developments. at my bank, getting past compliance for even a small AI project is a nightmare. everyone wants to talk about "trust and safety" but then they have their own agendas. i wonder if this new company's internal culture is actually different or if it's just good PR for the investors.

Interesting to hear about FLUX.1 from Black Forest Labs, especially with the Stable Diffusion guys behind it. They say it will be “fundamental building block” and “industry standard.” That's a big claim. But I am wondering about the actual hardware. Black Forest Labs, they are focused on the model, but what about the deployment? How this work with edge devices? If it is really going to be a foundation, it needs to be efficient. Our customers always ask for AI on their own devices, not just cloud. Is FLUX.1 small enough for that? Or will it always need big GPU farms?
